
Leigh Rainwater, a proud Texas native, earned her graduate degree in counseling psychology from Boston University. Upon returning to Austin, Texas, she built a fulfilling career in professional counseling, working in settings like non profit agencies, family child guidance centers, and private practice. Leigh is also a dedicated mentor, supervising post master’s level social counselors as a Texas board approved supervisor.
With a passion for teaching and learning, Leigh has facilitated trainings on topics ranging from leadership development and creativity to art therapy and grief counseling. She's also shared her expertise at professional conferences, presenting on collaborative teamwork and creative therapy approaches. Over the years, she's lent her leadership skills to non profit boards, including Hill Country Play Therapy Association, Austin Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and Child Proof Advice.
Now living in Asheville, NC, Leigh and her family enjoy the cooler weather and proximity to the mountains. When she's not exploring, you'll find her running, perusing farmer's markets, or whipping up creative flavorful meals at home with her husband, Patrick, while being entertained by their lively crew of rescue pets: Hazel, Henri, Claire and Molly.
