A native of Texas, Leigh Rainwater received her graduate degree in counseling psychology from Boston University. Upon returning to Austin, Texas, Leigh pursued her professional counseling career in a variety of settings including non profit agencies, family child guidance center, and ultimately, private practice. Leigh also supervises master’s level social workers and counselors and is a Texas board approved supervisor for post master’s level clinicians. Additionally, she has facilitated numerous trainings for other professionals on topics such as leadership development, art therapy, grief and loss, cultural awareness, and group psychotherapy. She has presented at professional conferences on working in collaborative teams in addition to obtaining advanced clinical training in creative therapies. Leigh has served on several non profit boards including Ashera Project, a youth development project, Hill Country Play Therapy Association and Austin Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Leigh and her family moved to Charlotte, NC for cooler temperatures and easier access to Europe. Leigh loves traveling the world, entertaining her menagerie of cats and dog, running, attending weekend farmer’s markets and cooking nutritious meals for her husband, Patrick.
